Who We Are

Browning Build Group are renovation and new-build specialists dedicated to creating homes that perform as beautifully as they look.

About Browning Build Group

We Build With the Same Care I'd Give My Own Home.

My wife Kimberly and I have two kids — Alfie-Joe, 7, and Maeve, 4. We live in Mittagong, right in the heart of the Southern Highlands. This isn't just where I work. It's where my family is. It's home.

When I'm on a job site, I think about them more than they'd probably expect.

Not because building is dangerous — but because every home I work on belongs to someone's family. Someone's partner. Someone's kids. And before every decision I make on site, I ask myself one question:

Would I build it this way if Kimberly and the kids were living here?

If the answer is no — we don't do it.

That's not a marketing line. That's genuinely how Browning Build Group operates. It's the standard Kimberly holds me to, and honestly — it's the standard I'd hold myself to anyway.

When you invite us into your home, you're not just hiring a builder. You're trusting a family man who understands exactly what your home means to you.

I've Seen Both Sides of This Industry

I've worked at the high end of building. I've seen what it looks like when a company truly cares — about the craft, about the client, about every detail behind the wall that nobody will ever see.

And I've seen the other side too.

Labour help going through the motions. Tradespeople cutting corners and hoping it won't be noticed. Problems buried instead of fixed. Homes built just enough to pass — not built to last.

That gap between those two worlds is exactly why I started Browning Build Group.

I got tired of watching the standard drop. I wanted to build something different — a business where pride in the work isn't optional, where mistakes are owned not hidden, and where the person living in the home at the end actually got what they paid for.

Carpentry Is Still My First Love

I started as a carpenter. That passion never left — it just grew into something bigger.

There's a feeling you get when a joint is perfect. When the framing is square and tight. When the finished product looks exactly the way it was supposed to. I chase that feeling on every job, and I expect the same from my trusted and professional Sub Contractors with Browning Build Group.

It also means I've spent enough time in this industry to know exactly what good looks like — and to refuse to settle for anything less.

The Part Most Builders Don't Talk About

Here's where I'll probably lose some people — and that's okay.

I care deeply about how a home actually performs. Not just how it looks.

Insulation done properly. Airtightness. Heat Recovery Ventilation so the air your family breathes is actually clean. Cavity systems. Proclima wraps. Passive House principles applied practically to real Southern Highlands homes.

These things cost a little more. They take more knowledge, more care, more time.

But they're the difference between a house and a home that genuinely looks after the people inside it. Warmer in winter. Cooler in summer. Healthier air. Lower running costs. A building that performs the way it should for decades.

This is my passion. If it's yours too — we're going to work well together.

What Working With Me Actually Looks Like

You're not a number. You're not a contract value.

You're a family letting me into your home — and I take that seriously.

You'll have full visibility through Wunderbuild project management. You'll know what's happening, when it's happening, and why. You can visit the site. Bring the kids. Ask questions. I'd rather over-communicate than leave you guessing.

When we hand over your home, I want to walk through it with you and feel genuinely proud of what we built together. Not just the finish — but what's behind it. What's inside it. How it's going to serve your family for the next few decades.

The Right Client, The Wrong Client. Let Me Be Direct.

You're probably my kind of client if: You've done your research. You understand quality costs more upfront and pays back over time. You want to be involved, stay informed, and work with a builder you can actually trust. You're building or renovating a home you plan to live in and love — not flip.

We're probably not the right fit if: You're leading with price. You want the cheapest quote in the Highlands. You're a developer moving fast with tight margins. You're flipping and you need corners cut to make the numbers work.

I won't pretend to be something I'm not to win a job. There are builders who will. I'd rather point you in their direction and save us both the frustration.

What I'm Actually Building Here

Right now Browning Build Group is me. Directly involved in every job. My attention, my standards, my name.

That won't always be the case — I'm building toward something bigger. A team with a genuine culture. People who care about the work the way I do. A business built to last.

Maybe one day Alfie-Joe or Maeve decides they want to be part of it. I'd love that. But whether they do or they don't — I'm building something I'd be proud to show them.

That's enough reason to do it right.

What Matters Most to Homeowners in the Southern Highlands

Renovating in the Highlands brings unique challenges. Here’s what local homeowners care about most — and how Browning Build Group addresses them:

• Comfort in a Cold Climate – Many older homes in the Highlands struggle with insulation and heating. We improve energy efficiency through upgraded insulation, airtightness and material selection suited to the local climate.

• Hidden Structural or Compliance Issues – Renovations can reveal unseen defects like damp or non-compliant framing. We conduct detailed inspections and maintain compliance at every stage of your build.

• Navigating Local Councils & Heritage Requirements – Many Highlands homes have heritage overlays or vegetation controls.
We handle local council liaison, planning approvals and heritage-sensitive renovations with experience and care.

• Budget Control & Transparency – Homeowners fear cost blowouts and shifting timelines. We provide detailed, transparent cost breakdowns and clear schedules before work begins.

• Minimising Disruption During Works – Many clients continue living at home during renovations. We manage dust, noise and access carefully, maintaining respect for your home and daily routine.
